Is That Voldemort?
It came last week while my husband was out of town, an innocuous little email in my inbox when I wasn’t expecting it. I covered my eyes after clicking it open and made the kids look first. I was so excited and nervous all at the same time.
“Does it look okay?”
“Is it horrible?”
“Should I start crying now?”
“Do you love it?”
These were my questions from underneath my palms as the kids gathered around my barstool, peering over my shoulders at the image on the screen.
“Mom, move your hands.” This was my oldest and obviously more sensible of the group. He had that look on his face like I should be acting my age, but I chose to gnore it and looked at the screen in delight.
My first book cover proof had arrived! And can I say it’s fabulous! I am SO excited. There were a few things about it that need some tweaking. Like the silhouette that resembles Voldemort

and the Naval ship that doesn’t exist in my book. But there were a dozen other fabulous things I adore about it.
Here’s a little sneak peak.
I know, it’s fab, right? You’re going to love the finished product. Love it so much you’ll snap it up just from pure cover adoration. And then you’ll flip it open and really fall. Okay…enough daydreaming. I’ve got to get Voldemort off my cover.

Kim I love your support. Stay tuned because I would love to have you come to my release party. Thanks again for the excitement. Love you!
How exciting!!! You’re so brave. I’d still be there at the barstool with my hands over my eyes!!! Good luck!
I would have stayed there longer if they would have let me! But looking wasn’t so bad after all. Thanks Brianna!
Awesome, I love it. And Voldemort scares me.
He is kinda creepy – but he worked well for JK Rowling. I just don’t think he’s the love story type.
